Kevin "Cal" Neal Profile
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile. You can get more information about me, hear some samples of my playing, and get more information about lessons at calneal.com.
I recently took over a teaching slot at the Music 6000 store in Olympia, WA and teach most of my lessons there.
THE INFECTIOUS LOVE OF LEARNING
The single most important thing that you can do in selecting a tutor is to get one who is passionate about learning, passionate about teaching, and passionate about the subject matter. That passion is contagious, and when the student realizes how interesting even the driest of subjects can be, then they are typically more interested in committing to the consistent hard work that it sometimes takes to succeed.
THE MAGIC OF MUSIC
I primarily teach music - drums and percussion - but as you can see below I also tutor a variety of other subjects.
My background as a musician includes over 25 years of playing experience on drum set, 15 years of orchestral playing, and another 10 years of marching performance. My music teaching experience includes both private lessons as well as group instruction (drum lines, orchestral ensembles), and includes most recently being selected by the Dean of the Los Angeles Music Academy to tutor for Harmony/Theory/Ear Training, and for Hand Percussion, working with both individuals and small groups (4-6 people).
I also have training and experience in recording using several popular DAW software packages, including Pro Tools, and served as a student assistant in the Academy studio. I help recording students set up their own home studio areas, getting mics and channels sorted out, how to apply effects, and get great sounds from the get go.
For more information on my musical experience and the lessons I teach, please visit: www.learningmusician.com/kcal71
OF TECHNICAL THINGS
Success in my previous career as a civil engineer required a strong background in mathematics and various physical sciences. My experience tutoring my peers while in college and graduate school prepared me to tutor today both college-bound high school and home school students, as well as those students already entrenched in college-level studies.
In my work as an engineer, I developed a strong skill set in Excel and Word, including programming custom macros in Visual Basic. I taught a series of workshops in Excel for coworkers, helping them increase their own productivity, and was the resident expert for these software programs at several companies I worked for. I can assist you with your next spreadsheet or word processing task, and show you some tricks to help boost your productivity.
SPEAKING YOUR MIND
I think that to be able to show that you have mastered a subject, or at least are making progress, then you need to be able to communicate yourself effectively. I have decades of experience drafting technical reports, analytical and persuasive essays (some scholarship award winners, I might add!), cover letters and resumes. I also have had to develop techniques for documenting calculations in the technical subjects so that my calculations could be more easily checked and corrected. These critical skills are often the deciding factors in who gets accepted to selective schools, who secures scholarship funding, who gets the best grades, even who is the best candidate for a job, and are ones that I enjoy coaching students on.
FEE SCHEDULE
I teach half-hour and hour-long lessons at Music 6000 in Olympia. Half-hour lessons are $20 each, and hour-long lessons are $40. I also teach occasional lessons in students' homes and studios from Olympia to Tacoma for an additional charge.

Stefano Campagna Profile
Background:
After several years in this line of work, I have tutored toddlers, middle-aged adults, and every age group in between those two extremes with ever-increasing success. I really enjoy tutoring as it is a flexible, part-time job that allows me to help many students grasp the material they are just learning at school or reviewing for the first time in years. Although I had only started working with established organizations in the past 6 years, I have tutored students privately on my own since I was in high school. My interests are in mathematics and the sciences, but I also engage students that have trouble reading, writing, and even, speaking English. I also am native Spanish speaker, so I have had the opportunity to help many students through a high school or college level sequence of Spanish. The progress and rapport I have developed with my students has been independent of whether the student was struggling in class, simply needed to practice problem-solving or conversational skills, or needed to review for Advanced Placement Exams. Regardless of a students initial stance, once I am aware the material that needs to be covered, I am able to customize individual lessons around the students needs.
Sample:
For example, when I work with students in math, chemistry, or physics problems, I first review the theory in order for them to grasp what objects we are studying. Simply plugging in to formulas means nothing if you do not know what their purpose is. When possible, I want students to appreciate the material for the sake of acquiring new knowledge prior to delving deeper into the subject. Then, after working out several examples either from the book, lecture notes, or my own experience, we would tackle larger assignments or go over previous test results. I occasionally give extra problems for them to work for future sessions, and we would go over these at our earliest convenience. I also tend to present students with different ways of visualizing problems, with drawn-out, symbolic, or more abstract examples.
Notice:
As a side note, some students have a hard time realizing that a noticeable improvement may take more time and effort than what they originally wanted to commit. I keep reminding these students that practice and dedication will reward them in the end and that initial frustration is normal. They need encouragement and motivation, but they also need to work harder to reach their goals. Others actually do not need to be tutored for as long or often as they planned because all they needed was some guidance or a refresher before an exam. These students are sometimes blessings because their improvement is obvious after the first couple of lessons.
Schedule:
At this point, I would like to mention my main reservations with tutoring. As a full-time graduate student, my schedule currently permits only private tutoring work from Friday to Sunday. Although day-by-day exceptions may arise, I am generally not available to tutor during the week as my own schoolwork takes a considerable amount of time. When I tutor privately, I normally have to drive to a students residence, and between driving, traffic delays and anomalies, and parking, I may lose up to three hours of time just to arrive at my destination to tutor for 30 minutes. I have had parents schedule last minute sessions for next day exams, even late at night, but I advise against that. I prefer working on a regular weekly, or biweekly, schedule with each student and have at least a ninety minute buffer to reach my next student. Given individual circumstances and my own changing schedule, I am very willing to have flexible meeting times on given days. That being said, I would prefer a 24 hour notice of whether a session needs to be cancelled or rescheduled for later in the week. I have had to charge my full hour fee for frequent last minute cancellations that cost me several trips.
Conclusion:
I am willing to travel to Weschester County, western Long Island, and any of the 5 boroughs of NYC. Below I have provided my relevant professional experience working with both schools and large tutoring companies. Please feel free to contact me for more information.

As a student looking for a tutor, your first priority should be finding a tutor who can connect with and listen to the student, knows how to teach from experience, and has a deep understanding and knowledge of the subject matter. You should also look for a tutor that is highly motivated and puts your goals and interests first. The tutor should have an understanding the problem from the student's point of view. The tutor should also have a positive and light-hearted personality that is easy to get along with, so the student is motivated to study more and gain interest in the subject. I am very motivating and well grounded, yet I have a positive attitude, friendly personality with a good sense of humor, therefore I tend to work well with many different students.
I have been tutoring Math & Science subjects from Middle School up through College level for 9 years including over 2 years with the largest SAT tutoring company in the world and one year with an online tutoring company. I have tutored students for the SAT Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology SAT Subject Tests and scored above the 95% percentile in each of these subjects.
I have also passed the FINRA Series 65 Exam and NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.

What makes me different from other tutors? Training is one thing, I think. I've attended Engineers as Educators workshops and specialized 2 day training workshops on how to teach math and science classes. Using experience from a student's life, I am able to leverage their existing understanding to incorporate new concepts. I had a 4.0 GPA when I took courses up through high level college math, physics, chemistry, astronomy, rocket science, and computer science for my degrees. I also put student safety first, and never allow young students to be alone anywhere. If a parent is late, I will take the student home.

As a certified professional tutor and UCONN graduate with a BS in Physiology and a BA in philosophy, I have tutored thousands of students in over 50 subjects (9 years or +10,000 hours). I have experience tutoring and teaching students of all ages and cultures, attending schools such as public grade schools, Gateway Community College, SCSU, UCONN, Yale University, and Choate Rosemary Hall.
Tutoring elementary school students means making learning fun and interesting in order to cultivate a life-long passion for learning. Middle school students are a favorite to tutor. At that age, students learn about themselves and start to think about possible vocations. So, tutoring these students doesn't just mean restating seemingly useless information. It's about character building, sharing wisdom, and allowing them to feel comfortable and passionate about learning. I enjoy tutoring High School students by developing their critical thinking skills (necessary for success in college). Finally, I have always excelled with the rigorous demands of college courses and always have loved sharing my practical guidance and quick tips to current college students.
Because teaching is a passion for me, I make learning fun, enjoyable, and practical. I love seeing personal and academic growth in my students. If all you want is to pass your next exam or course, then I love making these students less stressful and more successful.

At Open Door Tutoring, teenagers are empowered in their development into responsible young adults. While confronting a looming textbook, they discover and develop internal skills that will serve them later in life. With unconditional positive regard toward their feelings, they can learn to keep going even when they feel excruciatingly bored. When a textbook is poorly written, or the work causes frustration, we complain or laugh together while continuing forward. Thus, they develop: fortitude, resilience, persistence, competence, and pride in a job well done. They learn that on the road to success, there is no substitute for good, hard effort. A harmonious mixture of academic knowledge plus keen listening and communication skills is the key to Open Door Tutoring success.

Customized sessions: We develop different approaches for any age
that are designed to fulfill the needs of individual students.
Experience Tutoring: We develop and teach customized classes to
students who could not be served by the regular school format.
This includes technical strategies for different types of
learners (ADD,ADHD,GIFTED). We believe that with enough time and
the right kind of instruction, all students can learn . We as
tutors can help students discover their individual learning
styles so that they can more effectively learn from their
teacher. In some cases after a few weeks of intense work a
student is able to more effectively learn from their classroom
teacher and is ready to work on their own again.
Our goal is two fold: To improve identified areas of need and to
plant the seeds of independent study by building knowledge,
confidence, and resourcefulness in our students. Also I teach memory building skills. I am a personal trainer, pilates teacher, hula hooping teacher for weight loss ,toning and parties.

I have 25 years of experience in the field of education and I am devoted to ensuring students achieve their fullest academic potential. I believe tutoring received in the privacy of your own home means the student receives individual attention in an environment in which they feel safe and secure and free from the distractions of a classroom. The advantages of learning in home versus traveling to a learning center are dramatic when you compare the convenience, affordability and quick results gained through in-home tutoring.

My 30 plus year history as a tutor began as member of a coffee group that met between classes at the El Paso Community College (EPCC). I shared a table with five Vietnam Era Veterans. In our discussions, I found that my friends needed help with their math classes. I began to help them out. After a few sessions, they informed me that I could get paid for their tutoring by the UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso) and EPCC Veteran's Administration offices. After getting certified by these respective offices, I became a professional tutor.
I then became a tutor for the EPCC Tutorial Services. Through this office, I tutored Undergraduate Students, the Mentally Ill, Learning Disabled students, and was a GED Instructor. I have help 100's of students earn their GED's, High School Diplomas, and Associates Degrees.
At UTEP, I became a grader for the Mathematics Department. I graded the homework and exams of students in College Algebra, Business Mathematics, Business Calculus, Statistics I & II, PreCalculus, Calculus I, II, & III, and Differential Equations. While at UTEP, I tutored students working on their BBA, BS Engineering, MBA, and MPA degrees.

I am a passionate tutor who believes in the importance of education and its benefits. I tend to connect well with my students and as someone who recently graduated with departmental honors from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), I can understand the pressures of school. I have taught students ranging from elementary school to high school. I draw from own experiences and provide insightful study habits and skills which can used in any subject. I try my best to not only teach the material to my students, but to also instill in them the importance of education so they can become individually motivated and more encouraged to learn.

Heather Tangen Profile
I grew up in beautiful, sunny California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 2001 as a Valedictorian Scholar. I attended UC Berkeley as a Regent Scholar and graduated with a degree in Integrative Biology. I took off a couple years to travel: I lived in Spain for a year, worked as a white water rafting guide in West Virginia and volunteered to help conserve sea turtles in Costa Rica.
I then returned to the O.C. to get my teaching credential and Master's in Education from UC Irvine. This is my fourth year teaching science. I currently teach chemistry, AP chemistry, and physics.
I specialize in science and standardized testing. The science part is obvious, given my background in science education. The standardized testing is for fun. I did well on the SAT in high school and would like to help you do the same. I also came across the GMAT and liked the challenge of tackling such a notoriously difficult test.
Please contact me if you are interested in tutoring. My hours are flexible (nights and weekends) and my clients are always very satisfied.

Can't do chemistry? Mystified by math? Flabbergasted by physics? Algebra makes you anxious? Programming gives you problems?
I've never met anyone too dumb to do well in these subjects. You won't be the first! I don't give out answers. I don't teach you how to beat the SATs. I give YOU the skills you need to find answers on your own, and blow past standardized tests like they don't even matter (because they don't).
(PS: the first 5 questions were my lame attempt at humor and/or alliteration. Just a warning!)

I believe every student has a learning style, a way that the material
can make sense to him or her. The challenge is finding it. I work with
each student to help them find their unique way to understand and
master the material. My students have always given me rave reviews,
saying that they actually understand and in many cases enjoy the
material now. Whether you just need help on your homework, need to
build your foundations, or need to build your understanding from
scratch, I can help. Please let me know if I can help you.

John Hocutt Profile
My greatest strength as a tutor (beyond really knowing the subjects I tutor) is my ability to adapt to and match the way *you* learn. A close second is my ability to take abstract concepts and make them much more understandable. I don't do tricks since it takes as much effort to memorize tons of tricks as it does to actually learn the stuff (though I do have plenty of ideas about how to do things more easily). What I do do is teach solid theory, techniques and study skills as simply and directly as I can.
How I Work:
Instead of just repeating what your teacher's already gone over in class, I'm often able to provide another way of looking at the things that are giving you trouble. Having actually taught in classrooms for over twelve years, I can help you understand why your teacher's teaching a given topic, how it fits into the big picture, and what to watch out for in the future.
I'm excellent at what I do and I adapt to meet *your* needs. I draw upon the recent advances in brain research as I work to help you perceive and retain what you're learning more effectively. I usually don't administer written diagnostic tests because students typically already have a good idea of what their problem is, at least on the surface. Instead, as we start working together, I'll ask you to show me how to do a problem you're working on or to explain a term or two which gives the information I need to assess your situation. I'm pretty good at sensing where students' problems are. At the end of the session and periodically thereafter, I'll give you (and your parents if appropriate) an idea of how things stand and where to go next. If you want me to administer a diagnostic test, I have them available as well.
I live in Redondo Beach and travel around metro-LA in my Compressed Natural Gas Civic. I'm happy to meet at a place that is most convenient for you and me. I am trustworthy. I work mornings, afternoons, and evenings, even to midnight if things are that serious. And while most of my students attend traditional public and private schools, I'm comfortable working with home-schoolers as well.
What I Can Help With:
As I said at the beginning, I'm ready to help in a wide variety of junior and senior high school math and science subjects. If you're studying at the college level, not only can I tutor math and science at your level, I can also help in an array of engineering subjects as well. Being a chemical engineer I'm well suited to help Chem-E students with thermodynamics, transport phenomena, unit ops and distillation. Other areas of engineering where my math skills and general engineering knowledge combine to allow me to help include basic mechanical, aero and civil engineering. This is especially so if you're dealing with thermodynamics, materials science/engineering, statics, or fracture mechanics. If you need assistance with computer programming, I'm experienced in writing in Pascal, FORTRAN, and MS Excel. Please handle these engineering classes as 'separate and special requests' in your e-mail to me, stating specifically which branch of engineering you are studying, the particular course you are interested in, what your problem(s) is/are, and what you are working to achieve.
So far, I've helped students from UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Univ of Oregon, Univ of Southern California, Brigham Young Univ; El Camino College, Pasadena Community College, Santa Monica College; Chadwick HS, El Segundo HS, Loyola HS, Mira Costa HS, Palos Verdes HS, PV Peninsula HS, Redondo Union HS, South Torrance HS, Torrance HS, and San Pedro HS.
Experience Behind my Tutoring:
In 1989, I started my teaching career as an Air Force Academy instructor in statics, materials engineering, and physical metallurgy. In 1997, I continued my teaching career as a credentialed math, chemistry and physics teacher. I hold current California credentials to teach those subjects in junior and senior high schools. Of particular interest to many home schoolers would be my ability to teach using the Singapore Math approach.
As far as my education goes, I've earned:
- a BE in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech,
- an MS in Materials Engineering from the University of Dayton, and
- Single Subject Teaching Credentials at CSU - Dominguez Hills (Math, Chem, Physics).
As far as scientific and engineering experience goes, I have a significant experience as a career engineering officer as well as experience as a scientist by virtue of my metallurgy PhD studies. Over the course of my Air Force career, I worked as an aerospace propulsion engineer analyzing Chinese and Soviet missile and rocket engines in Ohio; I worked as a mechanical field engineer and engineering manager in Wyoming; I worked as the chief engineer for the Inertial Upper Stage program at Los Angeles AFB where I helped the Air Force procure and launch IUS space launch vehicles; and I worked as an engineering mechanics instructor at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. All those experiences and more enable me to provide you a wealth of knowledge about what it's like to work as an engineer.
What I Can Do for You:
I've worked with a wide range of students from those who get it easily and just want the edge to keep that "A", to students who aren't getting it and are afraid that C or D is going to slip away as the semester goes on. I've helped students with Asperger's syndrome to adults who finally conquered their fear of math and fractions and went on to nursing careers. However, even though I'm an excellent tutor who has helped hundreds of students, I'm not a miracle worker. If you come to me with only a week or two left before finals, I'll of course help you as much as possible, but I can't guarantee that you'll be able to pull a "D" or "F" up to a "C", or a "C" up to an "A". What I can guarantee is that with my assistance, you'll have a much better shot of turning things around.
I have extensive experience helping hundreds of students and I'm looking forward to helping you.

Raymond F. De Hont Profile
I received my PhD in chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University and have been tutoring high-school to college level students in Science, Math, and Writing subjects for over 10 years. While working towards my undergraduate degree in chemistry at Ursinus College (small liberal school on the east coast), I also minored in physics and received training as a writing fellow to assist students with written assignments. I have worked in a variety of tutor/teaching settings, including one-on-one private tutor sessions, group study, recitation instructor for high school and college students, and as a laboratory teaching assistant. Thanks to these different experiences, my teaching style is very adaptive and easily adjusted to the learning needs of the student.
Having been a private tutor for some time, I have helped students overcome test anxiety, find unique solutions to homework problems, better understand general concepts, and prepare for upcoming standardized exams (AP, SAT/ACT, GRE, GMAT, MCAT). This has led to better study habits, and increased understanding of the material for the student, and higher grades/test scores in general.
After studying science/math related fields for the last 10 years, I can certainly help those struggling with how to approach or view these difficult types of problems. So whether you are a student struggling through a particular course or someone preparing for an important upcoming standardized exam, I can help you reach your academic goals with personalized tutoring sessions. I look forward to hearing from you.

SAT PERFECT SCORER!

My name is Brooke; I am an energetic tutor who has worked for multiple education companies throughout the Los Angeles area-- teaching numerous subjects to students from ages 8-48, who have attended everywhere from LA public schools, to Marlborough, Harvard Westlake, and Crossroads. I have also been a curriculum writer, writing SAT prep curriculum as well as debate curriculum, for two established tutoring companies.
I graduated with honors in American Studies from Stanford University in 2002, and completed an MFA in Cinematic Arts from USC in 2008. Though my academic background weighs heavily toward writing and verbal, I naturally excel in mathematics, and am comfortable teaching that as well (fun fact: I received a perfect score on the SAT, ACT, PSAT, and GRE math sections!).
Once I became the most in demand and the highest paid tutor at the several companies where I have worked as a contractor, I decided to branch off on my own!
I am a seasoned professional with SAT prep-- I've seen how several companies teach, I've worked with most every published SAT prep book available, and I know what works best and how to get results.

Robertson Academics Profile
Delivering Academic Results
Any Time | Any Place
www.RobertsonAcademics.com
Robertson Academics provides comprehensive academic support to high school students and their families. In doing so, we are distinguished by the following characteristics:
1) 24 Hour, In-Person Response
When academic difficulties occur, we will be there, regardless of the time or location. We are the only firm in Los Angeles that responds to academic emergencies in real time, typically within 30-45 minutes...even at 2 AM.
2) Personalized Instruction
We work with parents to identify a student's strengths/weaknesses and create a customized plan for learning and achieving academic success.
3) Strong Communication
After each lesson, parents are provided with an in-depth report of what was covered during the lesson. In addition, throughout the school year, we provide regular updates on the progress of our students.
4) Understanding Over "Knowing"
We do NOT employ those who simply "know" enough of a subject to get by and then brush up their knowledge by reading the student's own textbook in the middle of a lesson. Instead, our instructors are experts in their subjects before the lesson begins.
5) Employee Verification
All employees are subject to criminal background checks to ensure that student safety will never be an issue.

Hi!
Are you seeking compassionate flexible assistance from a thoroughly experienced instructor? Maybe we're a good match for each other... Here's a little about me.
I enjoy working with people and I love the simple beauty of mathematics and most of all I enjoy connecting with my students to find the most efficient road to subject mastery. My teaching style is flexible, clear, gentle, and encouraging. I have over 10,000 hours of private and small group tutoring experience, and also have classroom experience teaching Advanced Algebra, Physics and Trig/PreCalculus at a great local private school in Jackson, Wyoming. I am in Maine long-term, and I would love to assist you in meeting your math achievement goals today.
I began tutoring some of my classmates in advanced algebra when I was 15 years old, continuing to tutor as a side job while I studied Astrophysics at the University of Colorado in Boulder and also after moving to Jackson, Wyoming in 1999. In Jackson, I started a family and chose to tutor full time for the flexibility and fulfillment and quickly found myself with more students than I could handle alone. I founded a full-service tutoring center in Jackson several months after deciding to tutor full time on my own.
For 8 years, I employed a team of 5-7 tutors and we served students of all ages in all subject areas while I focused on middle, high school, and college level math and science, standardized test preparation, and academic coaching to develop long term academic confidence and positive motivation in adolescents. I've helped "math haters" go on to choose PreMed, and "hopeless in math" students receive A+s on College Algebra finals.
Thanks for visiting! Let me know what I can do for you , and I will look forward to assisting you in achieving your academic goals with confidence and enjoyment!

Ms Jacalyn Nosek Profile
I have been tutoring professionally for more than 25 years. I have a teaching background that includes junior high school, high school, and college. In addition to the subjects listed above, i also teach study, organizational, and planning skills and writing skills.
My educational background is in behavior biology, which means I have a different approach to learning. I look at learning as a physiological process involving sensory and motor nerves. Because of my background, I teach students using lots of color, diagrams, outlines, and other tools that make learning more natural and accomplished with less effort. I teach students to use all of their senses so that information is stored in multiple areas of the brain and then practice retrieval of the information until it is stored in both their short term and long term memories.
I love learning and I love teaching and I believe both should be enjoyable. The techniques I use have had great success with my students. My goal is always to empower my students with the skills they need to be in control of their lives. Every academic area I teach is also infused with study and organizational skills. I teach students how to take big or small projects and break them down into a manageable set of progressive steps with self-imposed deadlines that keep them ahead of their class. When kids are in control of what is happening at school their self-confidence and attitude soar.
Kids don't have to be scared and feeling hopeless, they can be successful and even leaders. My students go from C's, D's, and even F's to A's and B's. The first thing I do is diagnose the problem(s),learn how the student processes information, what's missing in his/her background, and what his/her teacher's expectations are for that class. Then I can create a plan of action that quickly produces positive results and gets the student into a pattern of growth and success.
It's my job to teach each student in a "language" that they understand. I can explain concepts from many different directions. My broad and long experience has also taught me how and where students will make mistakes and go astray. I have tools and methods that help them avoid those problem areas.
Teaching is my passion and gift. Whether it is math, science, social studies, study & organizational skills, or writing, if your son or daughter is ready to try some new approaches, I can help him/her succeed.

Dear Adelle: I wanted to express my gratitude for the excellent job you did with my Son Ian, in preparation for the ISEE. Your work with him raised his test scores substantially, and undoubtedly contributed to his being offered a merit scholarship at his prep school of choice. I am very happy to have been recommenced to you, and would enthusiastically recommend you to others in turn.
Sincerely
Brian Clayman
Hi my name is Ira. Adelle helped me immensely in my college biology course. I was having a hard time at first when I took it during the year. Then, last summer I retook the course and I got an A thanks to Adelle. She is a very knowledgeable, patient and helpful tutor. I felt like I was actually learning the material that seemed incredibly difficult before. If you need someone to teach you science look no further than Adelle.
Adelle tutored my daughter in English for the ACT for a very short period of time and her score improved 7 points (equal to about a 140 point jump on the SAT)! I would wholeheartedly recommend Adelle as a tutor. She is thoroughly familiar with the subject matter, targets the student's weaknesses, is a great motivator and GETS RESULTS! I am so pleased with Adelle, that I plan to have her tutor my daughter in college level math over the summer.
Sincerely, Patricia Coster
"In the summer of 2007, Ms. Cadogan tutored me for my Chemistry Regents. With Ms. Cadogan help, my score when from 50's to 80. "

Thank you so much for tutoring our daughter who failed the Math B regents in school. She had to take a retest during the summer and we needed your help. Even though you only spent 3 two hour days with her, your patience and teaching technique really paid off. We are happy to say she passed with a 75 and I am sure if she spent more time with you the grade would have been higher. Thank you again for everything that you have done. We will make sure to keep your number handy for future use!
Sincerely,
The Bershads

Tutoring: We develop and teach customized classes to students who could not be served by the regular school curriculum. This includes a variety of teaching strategies from ADD to gifted. Our Philosophy is that we believe that with enough time and the right kind of instruction, all students can learn . In large classes, teachers are not always able to tailor their instruction to the individual needs of every student. We as tutors can help students discover their individual learning styles so that they can more effectively learn from their teacher. In some cases after a few weeks of intense work a student is able to more effectively learn from their classroom teacher and is ready to work on their own again. In other cases, students find it useful to meet with us on an ongoing basis to supplement classroom instruction. We are highly knowledgeable, reliable and provide excellent service.
